This weekend was great. I played Pokemon Moon and ate cookies, sometimes even both at the same time. Short story short, Frank and I ate a bunch of Oreos and we’ll tell you which ones are worth your hard-earned cash. These are the ones we tried: strawberry cheesecake Oreos, chocolate creme Oreos, golden Oreos, peanut butter Oreos and mint Oreos!
Strawberry cheesecake Oreo
Strawberry cheesecake is one of my weaknesses. I love Ben & Jerry’s strawberry cheesecake ice cream and I’ll buy anything that says strawberry cheesecake. Often to my disappointment, but I’ll never learn. These Oreos look fantastic, the pink-black colour contrast is striking. They smell like strawberry milkshake and taste like… strawberry milkshake. Where’s the cheesecake?! It’s fine. I’ll make do with strawberry milkshake.
Chocolate creme Oreo
This is a good Oreo. The chocolate is not that pronounced, but I like the way it subtly matches the cookie. It works. But to be fair, if you want a chocolate Oreo: the chocolate-covered ones are better. In fact, just get an Oreo Cadbury chocolate bar.
The golden Oreo is essentially an Oreo for people who don’t like Oreos. It’s vanilla-flavoured. It’s not bad, not great. There’s nothing wrong with it. There’s nothing particularly right about it. It’s just so boring.

Peanut butter Oreo
Frank was more excited about this one than I was – he likes Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups a lot, I prefer my peanut butter on bread (with sugar sprinkled on top). These Oreos smell like American peanut butter, so it’s a promising start. Taste-wise… they’re a little meh. They’re a little bit salty, which I do actually like. Problem: they’re not peanut buttery enough for true peanut butter lovers and they’re too peanut buttery for those who are not. Best to stick with Reese’s.
THESE LOOK SO COOL! The green filling really stands out. The smell is wonderfully minty, it reminds me of After Eights. The taste is fresh, sweet and minty as well and does not disappoint. The flavour is so strong in fact, it mintified the other cookies on the plate. We have a winner!
Let me know if you’ve tried these flavours and which one’s your favourite! I’ll have to make an Oreo cheesecake soon with all these Oreos lying around.
